There is 'significant concern' for the welfare of a missing 80-year-old man from the Nairn area.

Police have issued an appeal for the public to help track down Malcolm MacLeod, who was last seen at around 10am yesterday when he boarded a bus for Inverness on the A96.

He has links to the Glasgow and Aberdeen areas.

Police described him as around 5ft 8in tall, of average build, with short grey hair, clean shaven and wears glasses.

When he was last seen, Mr MacLeod was wearing a grey puffer jacket, grey beanie hat and black trousers. He also uses a walking stick.

Aviemore-based Sergeant Craig McGhee said: “There’s significant concern for Malcolm’s welfare and I would urge anyone who thinks they have seen him, or has any information on his whereabouts, to contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting reference 2792 of December 29, 2023.
