THE relentless onslaught of the weather continues with another Met Office warning for ice across the Highlands kicking in this evening.

The Yellow warning follows hot – or should that be cold – on the heels of an earlier one for snow and ice which ended this morning.

Running from 5pm this evening until 10am on Friday morning, the warning alerts people to showers leading to ice developing and some challenging travelling conditions on Thursday night and Friday morning.

The warning means that the following are possible:

  • Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
  • Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
