Cairngorm MRT called to attend 'human triggered' first avalanche incident of season

Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team were one of two rescue services called to attend the first avalanche incident of the winter season yesterday at a location near Ben Macdui.
Described as a "human triggered" event, rescue teams confirmed that no persons were found after an extensive search of the large site was carried by both Cairngorm MRT and Braemar MRT.

Search dogs Mac, Bowie, Rogue, Rona and Glen and their handlers from Search & Rescue Dog Association (Scotland) were also deployed to assist.
Maritime and Coastguard Agency rescue helicopter 151 from Inverness airlifted teams to and from the avalanche site.
A statement from the Cairngorm MRT on Facebook said: "Cairngorm MRT responded, along with Braemar Mountain Rescue and Search & Rescue Dog Association (Scotland) to a reported avalanche in the area of Ben MacDui this afternoon.
"The avalanche looked to be human triggered with no signs anyone was caught after searches of the avalanche debris.
"Rescue 151 provided a great service as always."
