“It’s been a crazy long weekend and I am just back from Budapest for the WAKO Hungarian World Cup which is part of the WAKO World Series! I was successful in winning my upper weight division of -63kg!”

The former Aviemore man, who has represented Scotland three times in WMKF world championships, celebrated: “It was an amazing feeling, I’ve been fighting internationally on the WAKO circuit for years and achieving my first gold was an unmatched feeling!”

Now based in Stoke at his BMMA Academy, Kerr started out in Aviemore at just four: “I entered my first local competition when I was around 6.

“Once I was around 11, I started to travel more around Britain and Europe to compete.”
