WATCH: Second place for Carrbridge snowboarder Emily in World Rookie Finals

Carrbridge snowboarder Emily Rothney showed up extremely well at the World Rookie snowboard finals in Kitzsteinhorn, Austria earlier today.

The 14-year old competed against slopestyle snowboarders from across Europe, North America and Japan for the grand finale of the World Rookie Snowboard Tour – an event to identify the top young snowboarders in the world.

In the Grom Women category, she came through the qualifying stage with a higher second run score of 63.67, finishing in second place from a group of 20 contenders.

In the final, she finished with a score of 61.33, second only to Niina Sakakibara (Japan) who scored 78.00 to win the event. Emily's nearest rival Lisa Francesia Boirai (Italy), who came in third place, scored 49.33.

Emily received scores of 62.0, 60.0 and 62.0 from the three judges in her first run.
