Strathspey Thistle have boosted their midfield options ahead of the weekend trip to Glebe Park.

Forres Mechanics midfielder Kane Davies has agreed a permanent switch to the Seafield Park side for an undisclosed fee in a move that Jags boss Robert MacCormack believes can prove to be "great" for the club.

Davies joins the club on a one year deal with the option for an extension.

The Aviemore native had a previous spell with Grantown club on loan from Rothes in 2021, scoring 2 goals in 9 appearances.

The manager said: “I’m delighted to manage to bring Kane back to the club after a lot of interest in him. Another local player that will come in and make the squad stronger which is exactly what we are looking to do. We want the best local players here and he is certainly one of them.

"He’s an experienced highland league player and will bring that much needed experience to the squad. I’m looking forward to working with Kane and I’m confident he will be a great signing for us.”

Thistle manager MacCormack also confirmed that goalkeepers Steven Martin and Callum Ligertwood, who have both been covering the custodian role for the club, have been signed for the season.
