Grantown Tennis Club was a hive of activity when it hosted a mixed doubles competition in the Tennis Scotland Club Series last Saturday.

Players took part in the Fast Four format and there was a good field of competitors from across the region. Top honours went to the host club with Diane Sellars (fourth right) and Alistair McLeod (third right) playing Fiona Reynolds (second right) and Malcolm Reynolds (right) in the final.

Despite the best efforts of the husband and wife pairing, Sellars and McLeod played more consistently and won the title 4-0, 4-2.

Lindsay Tinney and Walter Cruickshank, Grantown, finished third with Caron Hunter and David Williams (Elgin) in fourth. In the plate competition, Sarah Henbrey and Owen Davidson Knight (Forres) beat LJ Fishpool and Gavin Musgrove (Rothiemurchus) in their final. Aidah Isa and Stuart Mackenzie (Bellfield Park) were third and Pauline Mitchell and Chris Robinson (Grantown) came fourth. Referee Jane Bradley said: “It was a great day’s tennis and thoroughly enjoyed by all the players.” More photos at www.strathspey-herald.co.uk
