Peat and Diesel perform first round draw of Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup

The draw for the first round of the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup has taken place with the band Peat and Diesel performing the honours.

The games to be played on June 26 in the northern section will see Glenurquhart host Skye, Inverness at home to Strathglass and Glengarry welcome Beauly.

In the southern section Lochaber will host Oban Celtic and Inveraray and Bute have both been given byes.

Peat and Diesel will be headlining a concert following the Camanachd Cup Final at the Dell in Kingussie on September 17.

Steven MacKenzie, Camanachd Association President said: “It was my pleasure to be at the draw alongside Sandy and Innes and the gents from Peat and Diesel.

"This year’s final is sure to be an extra special occasion given the associated entertainment in the run up to and after the final.

"I know the whole shinty community will extend their gratitude to Tulloch Homes for making the magic of the Camanachd Cup possible.”

Tulloch Homes managing director Sandy Grant said: "It was a morale-booster for the sport to have the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final successfully completed last year.

"We're delighted to continue our sponsorship of shinty's Blue Riband competition against a backdrop of the return of top league action for the first time since 2019.

"Kingussie will be this year's hosts at The Dell in September and this opening ballot injects momentum into what seems to be a wide open contest as to which two teams will reach the final.

"Good luck to all the competing teams for a tournament to remember in shinty's full comeback season."
