GRANTOWN golfer Duncan Stewart is hoping to end a disappointing season on a high as he aims to make the PGA European Tour again through the infamously tough Qualify School route.

Stewart tees off today in Spain in stage two qualifying at Las Colinas, near Alicante, and is happy with his preparations.

"Everything has been good and I've been getting in plenty of practice and work with my coach," he said. "I flew out on Tuesday morning and have been playing a couple of practice rounds.

"I am at the same course as I was last year, which I am very happy about. It's always nice to go back to a course where you have played well at before.

"Hopefully I can play well and if I cut out the stupid mistakes there's no reason why I won't be in the field for final qualifying next week."

It has been a tough season on the Challenge Tour for Stewart who has struggled for consistency.

As a result, he will only get up to 10 starts on the second rung tour as things stand. Stewart agonisingly missed out on his card by a single shot last season.
