Newtonmore Bowling Club will be hosted a glittering fundraising event organised by the juniors.

The mini tournament is being organised to bring in money to buy some trophies for the youngsters to compete for and some bowls to win that silverware.

Linda Dobbie said: "The junior section is really proud to share the fact we are going into our second year of lawn bowling and we have managed to keep a core number of 12 children ranging from nine to 11 year olds interested throughout the winter.

"We have just started our outdoor bowling last week and will be hosting a fundraiser on Sunday (May 7) between 12 noon and 3pm at the bowling club.

"This was our youngsters idea to raise money for trophies and much needed junior bowls.

"There will be a two-hour competition running with a mixture of juniors and seniors being sponsored, a target bowl competition and also an opportunity to try bowling for any age group.

"Food will be on sale throughout with of course the obligatory raffle, one of our mail prizes is a £50 voucher donated from The Balavil Hotel."
