Long-serving player Owen Fraser will captain the Newtonmore first team for the 2022 shinty season.

Owen Fraser has played for ‘More both in goal and outfield and co-manager Norman MacArthur said: “Owen is a player – and Conor Jones and Drew MacDonald are others – who were involved during my previous time managing the side and who have yet to captain the first team.

"Traditionally we have one of the longer-serving players as skipper and Owen deserves the honour.

“Work reasons curtailed Owen’s involvement last year but he has assured me that he will be available for the whole of this coming season.”
