Eleven talented young shinty players from Badenoch have been selected to play for the North against the South at junior level.

Unsurprisingly, the Under 14s team features four of Newtonmore Camanachd Club’s MacMaster Cup side including dynamic goalscoring brothers Joe and James Coyle.

The pair are joined by teammates Joey Brannan and Jacob Bain.

Also featuring in the U14s squad from Kingussie Camanachd are Hayden Taylor-Ramsay and Macleod Dawson.

At U17 level, both Newtonmore and Kingussie have two representatives from their sides.

There is Tristen Ross and Kyle Clark for the Blue and Whites while Sam Thain and Fergus Sherlock feature for the Kings.

Both matches will take place on Sunday 1st October at An Aird in Fort William.

The U14 match will throw-up at noon with the U17 game following at 2.30pm.

The annual fixtures see a selection of talented youth from teams that usually play against each other, unite to represent this broader team of North or South.

The U14s have an added incentive with the Fraser MacPhee Memorial Cup being up for grabs.

The silverware is memory of a former Fort William young shinty star who died aged just 14 as the result of a tragic accident at home.
