Shinty’s Behaviour in Sport Committee has upheld the decision to deduct Kingussie two points following the postponement of last month’s Mowi Premiership match against Skye Camanachd at the Dell.

The match was called off on Saturday morning as the designated match referee had not received a call from Kingussie earlier in the week to confirm arrangements.

At an appeal hearing in Inverness yesterday, Kingussie’s case included that it was not the club but the Camanachd Association who called the match

off and that the byelaw used to implement the two-point sanction was not relevant.

However, the appeal was rejected and Kingussie now trail Newtonmore by two points at the top of the league, but they do have four games in hand.
