Kingussie are one victory away from defending their Mowi Premiership crown this season.

The Red and Blues could secure the title when they are next in action against Skye Camanachd at the Dell on Saturday 28 October.

The Kings now lead Newtonmore by two points with a game in hand whilst they are three points ahead of Kyles Athletic with both sides having two games to play.

Claiming both points against Skye would mean the Mowi Premiership trophy will remain in the Kingussie trophy cabinet no matter the result in the meeting with Newtonmore, also at the Dell, the week after.

Kings boss Iain Borthwick said: “To be honest, we could do with a game this coming Saturday to keep the momentum going but we now just need to stay focussed for the Skye game in a fortnight.”

The Dell side stayed on track with a win over Glasgow Mid Argyle away at Peterson Park including a hat-trick from James Falconer.

With the official score reported as 7-0 on Saturday evening, and the possibility that goal difference could play a part in the title destination, there was uncertainty over the final result until referee Alec MacVicar confirmed the 8-0 outcome on Monday morning.

There is no Premiership action this weekend with the return of the shinty-hurling international against Ireland.
