The pick of this weekend's pre-season friendlies is the meeting between Kingussie and Oban Camanachd.

The game, between the sides who won all the senior trophies between them last season, will be played at Kincraig.

Kingussie manager Iain Borthwick said: “We should have everyone available. I know the team I want to field, and Dylan Borthwick will start in attack. I’m also looking forward to seeing Savio Genini as he looks really sharp, back to his old self.

“The weather forecast looks not too bad so fingers crossed the game goes ahead.”

Oban Camanachd have a couple of injury absentees as defender Daniel Sloss (ribs) and attacker Matthew Sloss (hand) both required hospital visits following the weekend win over Kilmallie.

Kingussie’s second team play Inverness’ senior side and a final decision on the venue will be made nearer the time.

The Newtonmore firsts do not have a game but Peter Ross takes the ‘More second team to Strontian to play South Division 1 side Ardnamurchan.

Fort William and Kyles Athletic will again contest the Drew Ferguson Memorial Cup at An Aird whilst Oban Celtic play Kilmory at Mossfield.

There is an all-Premiership clash between Lovat and Skye Camanachd at Balgate and Inveraray take on Lochaber whilst Col Glen play Kilmallie.

• Kingussie and Kincraig will represent Badenoch and Strathspey at the indoor First Shinty National Finals in Fort William at the end of this month.

Kingussie went through the primary 5 (and under) qualifiers undefeated after beating both Newtonmore and Alvie 2-0, Aviemore 2-1, and Carrbridge/ Tomatin 4-0 before overcoming Aviemore 1-0 in the final with Reid Paterson, who scored seven goals throughout the evening, getting the all-important winning goal.

Kincraig were equally dominant in the primary 6-7 tournament. They won all their games without conceding a goal and they are also heading to Fort William to face the other regional winners from throughout the country.
