A fifth minute Adam Emslie goal gave Formartine United a 1-0 success in Grantown against Strathspey Thistle.

But the league's bottom club did not buckle despite the early setback and the Aberdeenshire side – now third in the table – was unable to add to their lead.

Meanwhile a stoppage time Ryan Stuart equaliser earned Lossiemouth a 1-1 draw at Forres Mechanics in Saturday's Moray derby.

Forres led through a Craig MacKenzie goal five minutes before half time until Stuart's dramatic, last-ditch leveller.

Buckie Thistle also left it late at Turriff United before three goals earned a 3-1 success at The Haughs.

Deveronvale fought out a 0-0 draw at home to Wick Academy while a first half Jordan MacRae goal was enough for Brora Rangers to defeat Rothes 1-0.

Keith slipped to a disappointing 3-1 loss at Clach, the Inverness side's first win of the season.

Harry Hennem's penalty made it 1-0 to the home side - who had former Buckie keeper Kevin Main in goal as a trialist - before Matty Tough's third goal in three games levelled.

Rorie MacLeod and Connor Bunce won it for Clach in the final 15 minutes.

Brechin City returned to top spot with a 5-0 win at home to Huntly, Grady McGrath scoring his fourth hat-trick of the season.

Nairn County hit back from 3-1 down to rescue a point against previous leaders Banks O' Dee.

Andy MacLeod's penalty in the seventh minute of time added on ousted Dee from first place, both sides finished with ten men.

Fraserburgh were twice pegged back by Inverurie Locos but a Ryan Sargent double helped the Buchan men to a 4-2 success.
