Today's 178th Strathspey parkrun was an especially young at heart affair.

Especially for Campbell Menzies (14), up from Edinburgh to complete his 50th run.

Run director Hilary Quick told the Strathy: "We had a magnificent turnout of nearly 130, which is twice our average, but thanks to them being such lovely people and the volunteers being superb, all went smoothly and everyone had a lot of fun.

"First finisher today was another teenager, Angus Fraser-Moodie, also up from the central belt, from the Glasgow area.

"I don't think we've had a junior finish first before."

Today saw an official entry of 128, of whom 53 were first-timers, and 19 new personal bests were notched up. Representatives of 31 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 10 volunteers: Pete Wright, Hilary Quick, Zoe Russell, Bill Dewitt, Iona Taylor, Susan Ellis, Sue Oxley, Ruth Barnett, Eliana Barnett and Vickie Rampton.

Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Aviemore parkrun Results Page.

The Aviemore event started on May 6 2017. Since then 5,342 participants have completed 12,268 parkruns covering a total distance of 61,340 km, including 1,670 new PBs.

A total of 214 individuals have volunteered 1,636 times.
