THE draw for the semi finals of the Camanachd Cup has been made and the tantalising prospect of the Badenoch giants meeting in the final is still on.

The two matches are Inveraray v Newtonmore and Kilmallie v Kingussie. Both matches are to be played on Saturday August 13 at the same venue which has yet to be announced.

The ties had originally been scheduled for August 6 but the date was changed to accommodate Newtonmore Highland Games.

The draw for the Semi Finals of The Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup was made today, Tuesday 5th July, at the Bught Park, Inverness.

Making the draw were Liam Barn, Sponsorship Manager Scottish Hydro, and Donna MacRae, Director of the Blas Festival, with Archie Robertson, President of The Camanachd Association, also in attendance.

Mr Robertson said: "The draw is very interesting and the prospect of a North v South Final or an all Badenoch final will excite shinty fans.

"The teams left in the competition are there on merit and I am sure they will all harbour ambitions of lifting the trophy at the Bught Park in Inverness on September 17.

"We have had some very exciting ties and surprises already in the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup this season and I am sure we will witness another two thrilling matches in the semi finals."
