"We are trying to encourage more local folk to join us," explained Shirley Lynch, "especially walkers. They are always welcome to come along, with parkrun rules permitting one dog per participant and on a short lead."

This week's event was a cracker on "a beaut of a day" over the wooded course, which starts on the Badenoch Way at Route 7 Cafe, Dalfaber each week at 9.30 after a 15-minute briefing for all the participants.

Every participant is allowed to bring a dog with them, as long as it's on a short lead. More are being encouraged to take part now.
