Strathspey Thistle boss Charlie Brown has confirmed that Darren Brew has joined the club on a permanent deal.

Midfield man Brew had arrived on a loan from North Caledonian League side Fort William last month, and has featured in five games for the Jags so far this season.

Fort William also confirmed the permanent transfer today, stating that an undisclosed fee had been agreed between the clubs, which will see him join the Jags on a two year deal.

Brown said: "Darren is a hard working player who has fitted in really well. His passion for the game and his desire to succeed make him a great signing to get on board."

Also arriving at the club is Owen Paterson from Forres Mechanics who joined on Friday and can play central midfield or right back.

Paterson, who has also agreed a two year deal, played 30 games for Mechanics last season, scoring 2 goals. He arrives at Seafield Park as part of a deal that will also see midfielder Craig Mackenzie heading to Forres.

The manager added: “I have worked with him at Forres at under 20 and first team level. He is hard working and really fit and off the pitch is a great professional. He really looks after himself even if he is not playing.

“He might be small in stature but he is not afraid to put in a tackle so hopefully he can ruffle some feathers for us.”
