A woman was sexually assaulted in a Kingussie residential home while she was visiting her brother earlier this year.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that previous sex offender David Duncan of Glebe Court, Kingussie, met the woman at the building and they had a friendly discussion on August 13, 2023.

But fiscal depute Grant McLennan said the 61 year old returned later that same day and knocked on the guest room door where the woman was staying.

"He sat on the bed and said he would like to get her into bed and grabbed her breast over her clothing.

"She said 'No,' he began apologising and left the room.

"She informed the management, police were made aware, he was traced and taken to Burnett Road Police Station in Inverness.

Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald deferred sentence until January 11, next year, for a background report and an assessment for a sex offender's programme.

She added: "This is because of the various orders you are on for similar offending."

Duncan was immediately placed on the Sex Offender's Register.
