Winter is back! Sleet and snow throughout Badenoch and Strathspey

Badenoch and Strathspey is having to battle through snow and sleet showers today.

Highland Council’s conditions report issued early this morning confirmed that all routes are currently being treated, with showers forecast to continue throughout the morning.

But no known overnight issued had been reported.

Other Highland areas:

06:30 - Sutherland - Marginal low road surface temperatures on higher routes. Primary & secondary routes in affected areas currently being treated as a precaution. No known overnight issues

06:57 – Inverness - Wet on lower ground with sleety showers on high roads. Temperature just above 0. Treating Tomatin and monitoring all other routes. No known overnight issues.

06:58 - Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh - Snow and sleet showers across the highest parts of the network this morning. It is not causing any problems and coming off with treatment. No reported overnight issues.

07:54 - Caithness - A mix of dry and damp roads this morning with positive road surface temperatures, no winter action needed no known overnight issues to report.

08:31 - Lochaber - Some sleety showers on the high part of the A884, other areas very wet and windy, no issues overnight.

08:07 - East Ross-Shire - Positive temperatures. No winter-related issues.

06:02 - Skye and Raasay - Positive temperatures, no winter action. Initial sleet showers converting to rain by mid-morning. No overnight issues to report.

06:51 - Nairn - Snow and sleet showers on higher routes. Primary and Secondary routes being treated. Wet and raining on lower ground so no action taken. No known overnight issues.
