Roads staff in Badenoch and Strathspey tackling snow and ice

Today's Highland road conditions report, issued at 7.18am, confirms snow and ice across the local network.

"All routes being treated with priority given to primary and secondary roads.

"All footpath routes being treated also.

"There are no known overnight issues."

On neighbouring Nairn-side routes the reports were the same, while Inverness roads were mainly dry with stretches of frost ad a light covering of snow on some routes.

"Gritters treating all routes."

A number of schools or nurseries have closed today as a result of bad weather.

​There is currently a Met Office Snow and Ice warning for Highland.
