Whisky worth hundreds of pounds stolen from Tomintoul shop

POLICE are hunting brazen thieves who stole two bottles of whisky worth hundreds of pounds in broad daylight.
The theft occurred sometime between 4pm and 5pm on Tuesday at a whisky shop in Main Street, Tomintoul. The two bottles had a combined value worth a “high three figure sum”.
Investigating Officer PC Robert Mackay said: “This would be a highly unusual incident for the area and so I am appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Main Street to consider whether they saw anything unusual late on Tuesday afternoon.
“A man who we believe may have important information that could assist us with this enquiry has been described as tall and of slim build.
“He has a brown beard and brown hair with blond highlights on top, which was worn up in a bun.
“He was wearing a navy blue ‘PORC’ branded jacket which had a distinctive white logo on the back of it of a pig’s head silhouette and crossed bones.
“It is believed the man was in the company of a number of other males and may be travelling around the north of Scotland area.
“Should anyone have any information about this incident, or the man described, I would ask that they call Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 3039 of 22 May.”
