Waters still rising at Kingussie

This morning's flood warning for Kingussie has been graphically illustrated by the latest reading from SEPA – the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

The River Spey has been rising rapidly at Invertruim since 2am.

"Spey Dam is over the top and heavy rain forecast to 8pm tonight," says local crofter Ruaridh Ormiston.

"Fields here at Market Lane started to flood at daylight."

The first flood alert came yesterday at 9am.

It was repeated at 7pm last night and updated at 8:15am this morning by text and phone from SEPA FLOODLINE.
