Staff on the Renal Unit at Raigmore Hospital say thank you to people for staying safe.

Staff at Raigmore Hospital's renal unit have shared a video thanking the public for their help in the last few weeks.

The unit cares for patients on dialysis for kidney conditions and has continued providing care during the coronavirus criss.

In an online message, they said: "We just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has generously donated various foodstuffs, toiletries etc to us over the previous few weeks.

"We also thought that we should let you know that NHS Highland are well prepared for dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak, with no shortages of PPE in the renal unit.

"Our patient numbers in the renal unit have not increased so far as was initially feared, and the hospital remains well within capacity.

"This is not because Covid-19 is less of a threat than expected, but must be a result of the majority of people sticking to the rules during the current lockdown.

"Thanks to everyone for your efforts and please continue to follow the rules to keep our numbers in the Highlands as low as possible."
