WATCH: Powerful stories shared by LGBT+ sports reporter 'can relate to us all'

Journalist Andrew Henderson was surprised and honoured to receive award-winning recognition for his work shining the spotlight on the LGBT+ sporting community.
While being one of Highland News and Media's sports reporters, he also run his own website Pride of the Terraces, which is dedicated to sharing LGBT+ stories in sport through in-depth interviews.
His work was acknowledged at last night's Highlands and Islands Press Ball and Media Awards at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness.
He entered the following articles:
- Zander Murray: “There’s zero hiding anymore, just me and my organic self that I should have been a long time ago.”
- Kate Jayden: “Just because you can’t change the world, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try and change somebody’s world.”
His decision to start the website was prompted by hope he felt from seeing the response to sportspeople talking about being part of the LGBT+ community.
He said: "I have no plans to stop doing Pride of the Terraces – if anything, things are just getting busier.
"We did a first in-person event last year, hopefully there will be more of those. I have a few interviews in the bag already but always looking for more people to chat to.
"What I find to be fun about it is that we don't just talk about sport. Sometimes we talk about stuff that is beyond that.
"The power of sport or the struggles somebody has faced in life makes it more relatable.
"We talk to people in all different sports and different capacities – coaches, players, referees and officials – from grassroots level to professional level from all over the world, so there's really some story in there that pretty much anybody can relate to. That's what I really want to try and do more of."
Mr Henderson has also been shortlisted for an accolade at the Football v Homophobia Awards in Manchester later this month.
