WATCH: Kate Forbes clarifies her stance on gay marriage and abortion

SNP leadership candidate Kate Forbes has rejected totally that she bears any personal animus towards same sex couples.

It comes after she started shedding support after comments about gay marriage where she said she would not have voted for the change in the law.

In a wide ranging interview, she told the Courier that everybody has a "right to live without harassment or fear."

The finance secretary also clarified that though she herself would not have an abortion she has "zero intention of changing the law" to prevent other women from having one.

Addressing her comments on the subject at a prayer breakfast some years ago she said that people are "monitoring" other people's prayers "raises enormous questions about Scottish society."

Ms Forbes also said the dualling programme must be completed as a priority and it is integral to her economic vision.

In fact, she believes that should it require more capital investment then dualling should get it.
