As part of the next stage in easing Covid-19 lockdown restrictions the Victorian Market in Inverness city centre is all set to reopen its doors for the first time in almost four months.

The Provost of Inverness, Councillor Helen Carmichael, has announced that the centre will be back in business from Monday with safety measures in place.

Everyone visiting the market is asked to respect the guidelines that are being implemented by each business.

A one way system will be in place in the Market Hall and all shoppers and visitors are asked to adhere to and follow the directional signs around the walkways.

Other changes in place are that the accessible toilet will remain closed and dogs will not be allowed into the market until further notice – with the exception of guide and support dogs.

It will be open Monday to Saturday, from 7am until 6pm, and Sunday, between 10am and 4pm.

Provost Carmichael said: “We very much look forward to welcoming people again to the city centre safely while adhering to Scottish Government guidelines.

"The economic recovery of our local businesses is vital to the overall economy and wellbeing of Inverness and the Highlands.

"Please take the opportunity to support local businesses who have worked very hard to adapt their shops to make it as safe as possible for customers.”
