A 39-year-old woman has been taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness following a three-vehicle crash on the A9.

The incident happened on the trunk road near Carrbridge.

Update: Traffic moving again following crash

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said officers were called to the scene about 6.05am.

The road was closed in both directions following the incident but reopened about 8.50am after the vehicles were recovered.

Traffic Scotland has reported traffic is slowly returning to normal.
