UPDATE: Diversions in place after three-vehicle accident closes A9 in both directions near Carrbridge

EMERGENCY services remain at the scene of a three-vehicle A9 collision which has closed the trunk road in both directions in the Highlands.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.05am on Monday, February 6, officers were called to reports of a three-vehicle crash on the A9, Carrbridge.

"Emergency services are at the scene and the road remains closed."

Traffic Scotland is signposting diversions on the road.

The diversions add an extra 18.7 miles to journey distances.

Police have not issued further details at this point and it is not known if there have been any casualties.
