UPDATE: A9 reopens near Blair Atholl after three vehicle accident this morning

The A9 has reopened near Blair Atholl after an accident this morning which resulted in two people being taken to hospital.

Traffic Scotland is now reporting normal journey times and the incident is no longer showing on the live traffic information.

An 85-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were taken to hospital in Dundee after the crash this morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 11.05am on Sunday, December 31, we received a report of a three-vehicle road crash on the A9 near to Blair Atholl.

"Emergency services attended and a 40-year-old man and a 85-year-old woman were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment."

Enquiries have been ongoing to establish the circumstances of the accident.

Police Scotland have been contacted for an update.
