Those who have been missing Grantown's great truck festival for the last two years have been given some good news at last: there's to be a mini festival in the strath.

Truck In2 Grantown organiser Martin Grant told the Strathy: "The great news is that Grantown East, the brilliant heritage centre belonging to Karen Blessington and Dave Garman, are providing a venue for up to 40 trucks on July 3.

"It will be at least something to let the world know that Strathspey's great truck event hasn't gone away for ever and we can't wait.

"There will be lorries from across the country, even if we will have to restrict them in numbers at this stage.

"But it's a superb place of course, offering stalls and a barbecue and that magnificent miniature railway – not to forget the place's superb restaurant and shop in the lovely old carriages. It should be a great day and we're doing our best to organise a welcoming 28 degrees Centigrade for the whole day!"

Entry to the event will be free and the doors will open at 10am.
