A dramatic chase through the streets of the Badenoch capital on Friday afternoon led to an arrest and a report to the Procurator Fiscal.

At one stage officers with a sniffer dog were brought in to secure the apprehension of a man who had made off.

This updated release reached the Strathy later in the evening:

"Around 2.30 pm police attended Kingussie Train Station in an effort to speak to a 30-year-old man with regard to an ongoing enquiry.

"However, he made off from police through the town but was stopped a short time later.

"He was charged in connection with trespass and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
