The Highland Folk Museum team's hard work has come good with today's reopening (Wednesday, July 29).

Steve Walsh, chief executive of High Life Highland said: “We have been looking forward to welcoming back visitors to the museum as part of our bounceback campaign, the safety of our

staff and customers has been our number one priority and the team have pulled out all of the stops to create a fantastic and enjoyable experience when people come to visit.”

Welcome! First visitors through the reopened door.

To help manage capacity and avoid pinch points, customers pre-booked a time slot online for arrival, avoiding congestion and reducing queuing times at the entrance.

The museum will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 10.30am to 4pm with last entry at 3pm. There are three slots available every 15 minutes for a maximum of six people each, which are

available to book online in advance at highlandfolk.com.

Social distancing measures are in place throughout the site and hand sanitising stations are being provided.

Mr Walsh continued: “We are all delighted to be able to share this fantastic lookback in time again with customers, and I am delighted to say that the demand has been high so far with the first two days being fully booked by 5pm on the first day of sale.

"The opening of Highland Folk Museum provides another positive step towards returning to some normality and I am sure will be supported by locals and visitors alike.”

Mark Tate, independent director of Highlife Highland and CEO of the Cairngorms Business

Partnership, said: “It is absolutely fantastic to see the Highland Folk Museum open and visitors having a great time, it is one of our top attractions in the Cairngorms National Park and like other businesses across the park the team have worked hard to open in a way that gives confidence to communities, employees and visitors whilst still offering a first-class visitor experience.

"Visitors are such an essential part of the economy in the National Park and the Folk Museum such an important part of the visitor experience here.”
