A fast-paced, non-stop, 60 minute production packed full of comedy, juggling, balancing, acrobatics, stunts and more is promised next week at both ends of the strath.
Circus Montini is a new concept in modern circus, the management say, but it still owes much to the early days of the entertainment which was the toast of the town wherever it went and attracted the lords and ladies of the day as well as the rest of the population.
Everyone wanted to see the circus.
Most of today's – large or small – restrict their tours to cities and major towns, a far cry from those first touring shows which were also taken to village greens and the recreation grounds of the small towns off the beaten track. Circus Montini is following in the wheel tracks of those great circuses of the past and is returning to the ethos of taking a family show to the people, creating a memorable experience on their doorstep.
"No need to drive miles and endure the road works and fuel costs of motoring – Circus Montini is coming to you!" they promise.
"A warm welcome awaits in our state-of-the-art theatre-style big-top!"
Circus Montini has successfully blended ancient and modern to create a show that will live in the memory.
It hits the strath first in Kingussie on Tuesday, May 31, setting up at the Market Stance for a show at 6.30pm and another the following day at the same time.
The following Friday the show moves to Grantown for three days.
Friday 3rd will see a 6.30pm show, while Saturday 4th sees two performances, at 3pm and 6pm.
The final day on Sunday 5th will see two more shows, at 12.30m and 3pm.
