'Spey not running today' shock
Anyone hoping to see the Spey flowing on Channel 5 tonight is in for a big disappointment.
After all the build up for the episode of the World's Most Scenic River Journeys billed as 'the jewel in crown of the series' it seems there has been a change of heart.
Spirit of the Spey entrepreneur David Craig BEM, who helped with the filming, this morning gave the Strathy the 'less than good news'.
"In their infinite wisdom they have moved the Spey programme, due to go out at 8pm this evening, until April 23.
"It's a nuisance, given all the publicity thrown at it and the resulting incredible level of public interest and expectation.
"Even the Cairngorms National Park Authority, the Badenoch Great Place Project and Visit sCotland have been promoting the thing.
"I can only assume Channel 5 have decided to keep the best till last!"
The show is still up on the channel's website and schedule for the day, but when viewers click on the programme for details they are merely told the page is not available.
The Strathy asked the channel's media office for a comment this morning but have received no reply as yet.
