Mortimer’s of Grantown names its new owner
Sporting goods shop Mortimer's of Speyside has announced the name of its new owner.
A social media statement issued on Sunday confirmed: “Everyone At Mortimers is thrilled to announce that with immediate effect Graham Ellis is now the proud owner of the business.”
He has worked at the shop for around 35 years, providing many customers, tourists and estates with fishing equipment as well as his wide range of knowledge on the Spey.
“Graham is very excited to take the reins at Mortimers and continue the High Street shop in much loved memory of The Late Grant Mortimer who proudly had the business running for around 60 years in Grantown on Spey.”
The business is continuing as normal, with its Christmas sale due to begin on Friday.
It will be offering new brands in both ladies and men’s clothing in early 2026: “As well as introducing a new kids clothing section into the shop!
“We look forward to welcoming you all as this new chapter begins.”
