Today's Badenoch and Strathspey roads report from Highland Council confirms that treatment is continuing across the area as sub-zero temperatures prevail.

Posted 7.55 this morning, the roads condition report confirms the negative road temperatures and widespread frost.

"Some drifting snow on A939 Bridge of Brown to Grantown road.

"Roads being treated as necessary."

Neighbouring Inverness area main roads were said to be black except for ice at any seepage.

"One inch covering of frozen snow on low ground side roads which were not treated yesterday, all high ground side roads treated yesterday but still one inch covering of old frozen snow between wheel tracks on some of them.

"All routes to be treated today.

"The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time.

"It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling."
