Snow gates close on B9007 - Badenoch and Strathspey roads report

Today's Highland Road conditions report has confirmed the closure of the snow gates on the Duthil to Ferness B9007 route as temperatures plummet in the strath.

The Badenoch and Strathspey bulletin, issued at 7.32am reported that there is snow across the network this morning. "All resources are deployed and all routes are being treated.

"More snow and low temperatures are forecast for throughout the day and evening.

"Caution is advised on all roads and footpaths across the area."

On neighbouiring Nairn routes the news is the same: "All resources are deployed and all routes are being treated. "More snow and low temperatures are forecast for throughout the day and evening.

On the Inverness side, generally there is two to four inches of snow cover on roads.

At the time of issue, there are a number of schools or nurseries closed today as a result of bad weather, including Kingussie High.

There is currently a Met Office amber warning for snow across Highland today and tomorrow.
