Roads check in Badenoch and Strathspey: snow arrives

Snow has arrived on the roads of Badenoch and Strathspey today.

The morning's roads condition report from Highland Council was released at 7.43am and confirmed that two to three centimetres of snow had fallen on the lower routes, with four to five centimetres on higher routes.

"All routes are being treated.

"There were no known overnight issues."

On surrounding Inverness routes it was a question of mainly wet roads this morning, with negative road side temperatures over the network.

There were some light snow patches on the higher routes.

"Teams are covering all routes and footpaths. No known issues."

On neighbouring Nairn areas there were wet roads reported, with negative temperatures and some icy patches on lower routes.

Higher roads had seen two to three centimetres of snow.
