It's back to the snow in the strath today.

Highland Council's roads report this morning, posted at just after 6.30, focussed on high routes experiencing drifting snow.

And lower roads were reported to be coated with some two to three centimetres after overnight falls.

"All resources deployed in treating roads as necessary."

In the wider Inverness area, the report published at 8.41am highlighted rain on lower roads and up to three to four inches of snow on higher roads.

"Conditions not good at Culnakirk and caution advised.

"Treating all road routes and patrolling higher footpath routes."

The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time.

"It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling."

The UK Met Office currently has a yellow warning for snow for large parts of the Highlands.
