Sleet across Badenoch and Strathspey roads as temperatures creep down

With the air cooling now, sleet showers have been reported across the strath and Highland Council's roads staff are gearing up for the battle.

This morning's conditions report, issued at 7.04am, confirmed that borderline temperatures ensured that primary and secondary routes were being treated although there had been no overnight issues.

On neighbouring roads, around Inverness and Nairn areas, there were no issues to speak off although roads were wet and on the higher levels sleet showers were being reported.
