Crews from Grantown, Aviemore, Carrbridge, Kingussie and Newtonmore were all alerted at 10.52 this morning as smoke rose from an area of Inshriach Forest around Ballintean.

They were soon at work, it's understood alongside estate workers, making sure that the warm, dry conditions didn't bring about a widespread blaze.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the fire was swiftly brought under control and all the crews were away from the area by 12.31.

After another call out around 4pm a SFRS spokesperson confirmed it was to a garden fire in Kingussie and there had been no need for any return to Glenfeshie.
