Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Limited (CMSL) has revealed that season tickets are now sold out for this winter.

Snowsports will start at the resort from Friday 22 December.

The SnowFactory is already working and, alongside snow cannons, will ensure from the opening date that the beginners’ zone is guaranteed an even coverage of snow.

Bosses have said skiers and snowboarders can easily reach the beginner slopes with the two ‘magic carpet’ conveyor belts and the 12 surface lifts will be operational once the mountain has full snow coverage.

The funicular railway remains closed due to essential snagging works.

A resort spokesperson said: "Although season passes are now sold out, day passes will be released ahead of the snowsports season opening at a reduced price whilst the funicular is out of service."

Once there is full snow coverage, the Ptarmigan Building will be open, which houses a 270° immersive exhibition space, a Learning Zone with 3D sandboxes, viewing platforms and the UK’s highest restaurant.

Susan Smith, CEO of CMSL, said: “We look forward to welcoming back visitors for another snowsports season. While the funicular railway is temporarily closed, we will continue to do all we can to make Cairngorm Mountain the exciting destination it has always been.

"This season, visitors can enjoy the wide range of activities available at the resort, from skiing and snowboarding to dining in our cosy cafés and restaurants.”

The Strathy has asked how many season tickets have been sold for this winter.
