Bear Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking essential carriageway resurfacing works between Lynwilg junction and north of Granish junction.

They are understood to be starting next Sunday (November 7) and will continue until Thursday 25th November 2021.

A Bear Scotland spokesperson said: "To minimise disruption, the works will be undertaken overnight between 7pm and 6am, Sunday night to Friday morning each week.

"There are no works currently planned on Friday or Saturday nights."

The proposed works programme is on the A9 north of Lynwilg junction from Sunday 7 November 7 Thursday 11 November.

Work will then progress into the A9 Aviemore bypass Sunday 14 November to Monday 22 November 2021 with no works planned on Friday or Saturday night.

The final stage of work will take place on the A9 north of Granish junction from Tuesday 23 November to Thursday 25 November.

The A9 will remain open however, there will be a 10mph convoy traffic management system in place to ensure the safety of road workers and the travelling public during these works.

A 30mph speed limit and warning signs will remain in place through the daytime as traffic will be travelling over a temporary road surface.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

The Bear Scotland spokesperson said: "We have planned the works overnight when traffic flows are lower, to reduce the impact of the works on local and visitor traffic.

"Bear Scotland and Transport Scotland wish to thank the local communities in advance for their patience during these essential works."
