The A95 Aviemore to Grantown is now unblocked again after this morning's incident with a lorry and a car.

Diversions were set up afer the lorry shed its trailer which in turn lost its container, which landed on its roof.

The HGV driver had a narrow escape on the Aviemore-Grantown road when his cab careered through a fence after his trailer detached and rolled into an adjacent field.

The P&O Nedlloyd Container Line truck was badly damaged and the trailer ended up upside down.

The driver was taken by road to hospital for a check up following the accident between the Deshar Primary School turn-off and Kinveachy junction.

The accident happened at around 9am and led to long tailbacks.

Diversions were available via Carrbridge or on the B970 Boat of Garten to Coylumbridge back road, but shortly before 10am the road was passable again.

The lorry driver was taken to Raigmore for a health check but not thought to be seriously injured.
