BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is carrying out overnight resurfacing work on the A86 just outside Kingussie, heading west towards Newtonmore.

Roadworks continue in Badenoch on Sunday night.

The scheme began on Wednesday and work will take place on Sunday night (17).

"The improvements will enhance surface durability, making the road more resilient in inclement weather conditions and providing a safer driving experience for all users," said Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland's north west reprsentative.

The A86 will be closed in both directions from 8pm to 6am during the roadworks. There will be designated amnesties at 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am, and 4am when drivers will be safely allowed to pass through the work site.

Emergency services will have access through the closures at all times.

"These essential resurfacing works will significantly improve road quality and safety for all," said Mr Stewart.

"We appreciate motorists’ patience during these enhancements.”
