Emergency services were called to Loch Morlich in Glenmore this afternoon when a rescue from the water was called for.
A fire crew, two police cars and an ambulance dashed from Aviemore to the scene after the alarm went up shortly after 4.30pm
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told the Strathy that their own appliance had been turned back on the road when it became clear their help was not needed.
Police Scotland have since told us that the emergency was a rescue from the loch:
"Two fell in from a kayak and were rescued.
"Both are safe and well.
"No police action is being taken."
