A Cairngorms business group wants to hear the hopes and fears of residents and operators for the coming tourist season and how it can assist.

The Cairngorms Business Partnership is holding an online gathering on managing visitors next Wednesday (March 23) from 2pm to 3pm. There are also sessions proposed starting at 5pm and 7pm.

Chief executive Mark Tate told the Strathy: “Communities are at the heart of the visitor welcome in the Cairngorms National Park and it is important that we all manage for visitors in a way that gives our communities confidence.

"We are hosting these sessions, along with the Cairngorms National Park Authority, so any member of our community can have their say or just come along and listen.”

He added: "Visitors are a vital part of our economy and we want to make sure that we manage for visitors in a way that gives confidence to our communities.

"We want to hear your residents' hopes and fears for the coming season and how we can help."

Attending the sessions along with Mr Tate will be Janet Hunter, CNPA board member and chair of the Cairngorms Tourism Partnership and Murray Ferguson, Director of Planning and Place for the Cairngorms National Park Authority.

Organisers will limit each Zoom meeting to 30 attendees to aid discussion.
